Travis McMillen is the video technician for the Futures Lab. He is a Columbia native who started working at KOMU-TV, the University of Missouri's NBC affiliate, as a camera operator when he was 16-years-old.
When he turned 18 McMillen was given the job of audio operator for Pepper and Friends, KOMU's community variety and talk show. Most recently, McMillen directed KOMU's two-hour morning newscast.
As video technician, McMillen directs and produces regular and occasional programming from RJI's television and radio studio, including Views of the News, a weekly media criticism show for local NPR affiliate KBIA-FM, and the Smart Decision 08 Election Night Webcast and Citizen Watch Party.
