- At The Victoria Advocate, researchers of RJI provided assistance in designing the survey questionnaire, sampling methodology, data collection, statistical analyses, and interpretation of the research findings for the editorial staff of the newspaper and researchers of APME. Through 400 telephone interviews with residents of Victoria County, Texas, the results of the study were presented at the annual training conference of APME in St. Louis, Missouri on October 28, 2009. It was further disseminated at a webinar organized by APME and Poynter’s News University on January 28, 2010.

- Missouri Foundation for Health
- In January 2010, Center for Advanced Social Research (CASR) of RJI assisted the Missouri Foundation for Health to complete 3,310 telephone interviews with adults 18 years of age or older in statewide Missouri about health literacy issues.
- As of June 30, 2010, CASR has completed 3,000 interviews, and is right on track of reaching the target of 3,310 by July 15, 2010. The results of the study will be an important source of information about the level of health literacy in Missourians to a variety of researchers and organizations such as Missouri Foundation for Health, Schools of Public Health in Washington University in St. Louis and University of Missouri-St. Louis, hospitals and other healthcare providers, and healthcare practitioners alike.
