Watch a live broadcast of KBIA’s "Intersection" program, tackling the topic of "The Future of Public Media."
With Juan Williams-gate, the controversial resignation of NPR’s president, and legislators threatening to pull funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the heat is on for public media. The question is: Can public media survive and thrive? We will tackle the question head on, with help from our panelists and input from the live audience.
Panelists:
- BARBARA COCHRAN, MU’s Curtis B. Hurley Chair in Public Affairs Journalism
- TIM EBY, General Manager, St. Louis Public Radio
- FRANK MORRIS, News Director, KCUR Kansas City and Harvest Public Media
You'll also hear from young journalists working on the cutting edge of public media, with journalists from Harvest Public Media, CAT-TV and KBIA joining in the discussion.
It all takes place as a live taping of Intersection – Monday, May 9, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., in the Fred W. Smith Forum, Reynolds Journalism Institute.
