Pictures of the Year International photos visit South Korea as part of photo display

"Photo festival has faces going places," Korea Joongang Daily, August 3, 2011.

Now in its tenth year, the Dong-gang International Photo Festival in Yeongwol, Gangwon, has become the nation’s premiere festival for photography.

Today, the festival attracts a broad audience of young and old, aspiring photographers and professionals, casual observers and photography connoisseurs.

Mentioned later in the article is the 68th annual Pictures of the Year (POYi) competition:

During the festival, the student gymnasium will be transformed into a gallery for an exhibition of more than 140 photos from 68th annual Pictures of the Year International competition, a program of the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism. The exhibit displays photos from news events, such as the Gulf oil spill and the earthquake in Haiti.
