MU sees big benefits in new Apple iPad
January 27, 2010COLUMBIA - Apple launched its new iPad Wednesday and MU academics are already exploring ways to use the new gadget to teach.
The iPad is a tablet-style computer that makes reading books, playing games, and watching videos easier than a laptop or smart phone.
The Reynolds Journalism Institute at MU held a live blogging session at noon today when Apple announced the product. Students and faculty discussed new possiblities for using the iPad to share content.
Associate Dean of the Missouri School of Journalism, Brian Brooks sees potential student benefits in one new iPad feature -- the iBook. Much like iTunes, which allows users to download music and video, the iBook application lets publishers share reading material...
