NEW YORK The Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri is joining with four entrepreneurs in CircLabs Inc., a Silicon Valley-based venture working to finance online news, according to a release.

"CircLabs has planned a suite of services, this first of which is code-named Circulate," Jeffrey Vander Clute, who will help lead the effort as a co-founder, said in a statement. "Software development on Circulate is underway, and we anticipate launching the service during the second half of this year."

The venture is aimed at drawing online users to new sites in innovative ways, and helping Web operators find specific demographic readers.
