The Apple corps whipped itself into a fever pitch these last few days as its members wait for the high-priest of the technorati on Wednesday to unveil the next sweet thing in consumer technology at an event in California — the land from where all things cool spring.
Steven P. Jobs, the chief executive of Apple Inc. and the guru of gadgets, is widely anticipated to introduce a tablet computer during an event in San Francisco whose intent has been telegraphed — to resurrect an ancient technological term — for weeks.
Jobs’ timing is perfect, said Doug Hebbard, publisher of online blog Talking New Media.
