COLUMBIA, MO. — A new division of the socially integrated classified ad platform, adFreeq LLC, incubated at the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) at the Missouri School of Journalism, is being developed for the Chinese market.

The new development has been made possible with the help of a Economic Development grant from the Chinese government, valued at 1.25 million Yuan (approximately $200,000). The adFreeq development team has also raised 1 million Yuan (approximately $160,000) in matching funds through local investors in Nanjing, China. adFreeq.CN is expected to launch in early summer 2013.

adFreeq LLC was created by Peter Meng during his 2011-2012 fellowship at RJI. Meng’s goal was to provide socially integrated classified ads from popular social Internet sites into a new revenue opportunity for online news organizations, publishers and blogs – at no cost to them. adFreeq has recently integrated predictive personalization technologies into their solution to provide individualized classifieds for any buyer from the social Internet.
