Telling larger stories

Presentation to Society of Professional Journalists

Matt Thompson discusses the opportunities for journalism and how changes can be made to "fill the gaps" around the scarcity of information in news stories. Context is an important part of journalism and journalists need to tell readers what the various stories MEANS to them. Journalists need to give readers the greater context of the story to help them understand how the issues affect them and their community. "Don’t just tell MORE stories, tell LARGER stories"
