Learn how you can become a digital storyteller

Digital storytelling is transforming how we hear, see and share personal, professional and community stories.

At digiSTORY2014: The Power of Digital Storytelling Conference, leaders in social media, technology trends, entertainment and media production will speak about their experiences and help equip you as a digital storyteller.

The conference will be held Wednesday, October 22, at Union Station in Kansas City.

Four industry pacesetters will give keynote addresses. In addition, two one-hour breakout sessions will be offered for four tracks: digital production, social media, community advocacy and photojournalism (this track is sponsored by Pictures of the Year International).

Speakers include Paul Debevec, research professor of computer science at the University of Southern California and associate director of graphics research at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies; Jay Baer, president of Convince & Convert; Brandon Oldenburg, illustrator, designer, sculptor and film director; Bob Johansen, futurist and distinguished fellow at Institute for the Future; Brian Storm, founder and executive producer of MediaStorm; Sherri McConnell, principal of McConnell and Associates Consulting; Steve Rice, convergence journalism professor, Missouri School of Journalism; Mike McCamon, director of technology at water.org; and Dan Archer, 2014-2015 Reynolds Fellow and founder of Empathetic Media.
