David Gehring, Relay Media

David GehringDavid Gehring is a digital media executive and entrepreneur focused on the news media industry with a goal to establish a scalable economic framework for quality original journalism.  

He is the CEO and co-founder of Relay Media, which is leveraging a new web publishing standard (Accelerated Mobile Pages) to build a highly efficient, infinitely scalable platform for distributing quality news and content across the open web.  The platform addresses publishers’ need for extended reach and revenue beyond their owned properties, and advertiser demand for high-performance, brand-safe inventory.

Prior to Relay Media, Gehring worked with Guardian Media Group and as a strategic adviser to a coalition of European News Media companies to form the Digital News Initiative alongside Google focused on strategic initiatives including the launch of the AMP Project in 2015.

Before his involvement with the Guardian/DNI, he held various roles at Google and YouTube, always focused on the media sector in general and the news media industry in particular.
