How small newspapers can cover local elections well. Oct. 6, 2014, American Press InstituteScott Swafford, a 2013–2014 Reynolds Fellow at the University of Missouri, looked at 292 articles from 28 newspapers with circulations less than 50,000 (most far less) and found that there was very little horse-race coverage, but in many cases there was very little coverage at all. He shares his lessons in this presentation.
