RJI announces new event coordinator

The Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute has named Tricia Morgan as its new event coordinator.

Morgan, formerly an event coordinator with Investigative Reporters and Editors, will organize and plan RJI events including the Walter B. Potter Sr. Conference for community newspapers, Dodging the Memory Hole and the Gerald M. Boyd Lecture Series: Politics and Press Responsibility. She’ll also be responsible for handling room reservations for RJI meeting facilities.

While at IRE, which is based at the Missouri School of Journalism, Morgan coordinated regional Watchdog Workshops and boot camps for the National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting. She also helped plan IRE’s annual conference, which attracts more than 2,000 journalists a year.

In the community, Morgan assisted with the planning of Rockin’ Out for Cystic Fibrosis, a fundraising event in Columbia, Missouri, for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She’s also a member of the Missouri School of Journalism’s staff service team, which organizes community service opportunities for staff, faculty and students.

Morgan received her bachelor’s degree in hospitality management with an emphasis in sport venue management from the University of Missouri.
