Peter MengCOLUMBIA, MO. — The future looks bright for social-classifieds company adFreeq as it announced the opening of three new offices — including one on the other side of the world.

adFreeq, created by Peter Meng during his 2011-2012 fellowship at the Reynolds Journalism Institute, provides live streaming classified ads to create new revenue opportunities for online news organizations, publishers and bloggers — at no cost to publishers. After launching the classified ad system on the Columbia Missourian newspaper website in May, the team announced that it had been invited to join the Missouri Innovation Center by opening an office in the Monsanto Life Sciences Business Incubator at the University of Missouri.

adFreeqThe team will have access to world-class research, a support network, as well as mentoring and financing opportunities at the center.

“We’re excited to take advantage of a world class technology incubator,” said Meng. “It provides the services and infrastructure we need to build a world class product.”

China and St. Louis

As the team prepares to launch adFreeq in the Chinese market this summer, they also announced the opening of an office in Nanjing, China.

Members of the Chinese adFreeq development team and a Chinese angel investor will be traveling to the U.S. in early June to work on the product line.

The team will soon be opening a sales and management office in downtown St. Louis, Mo., as well, as a result of being selected a recipient of a $50,000 Arch Grant.
